Vivo recently launched the Y28 as a new budget-oriented smartphone option. While the Vivo Y28 may not have flagship-level specs, it offers quite a bit for the price. Here’s an overview of what you can expect from the vivo Y28 based on my review of its specifications.

Design and Display

The vivo Y28 has a plastic body that feels durable enough for the price. It’s relatively lightweight at 186g but does have thicker bezels around the 6.56-inch LCD. The screen resolution is HD+ at 720×1612 pixels which is decent for most tasks. It also has a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations.

Performance and Hardware

Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset which provides capable but not outstanding performance for daily use. It’s paired with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM depending on the model. Storage is 128GB across all variants with microSD support. For things like light gaming, social media, and video streaming, the vivo Y28 should handle them just fine.

Cameras

The rear camera system has a 50MP main sensor along with a 2MP depth sensor. Don’t expect flagship-level photography but images look decent in good lighting. For video, it can capture 1080p footage at 30fps. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera.

Battery Life

A 5,000mAh battery powers the vivo Y28 which should provide long battery life between charges. Fast charging is supported at 15W which is reasonable considering the price point.
