vivo iQOO Neo9S Pro+ Review: Powerful Gaming Smartphone with Flagship Specs

vivo recently launched their new flagship gaming smartphone – the iQOO Neo9S Pro+. On paper, it has some very impressive specifications that make it competitive with other top-of-the-line Android devices. In this review, we’ll take a look at the key specs and features of the iQOO Neo9S Pro+ to see if it lives up to its goal of being a powerful gaming device.

Design and Display

The iQOO Neo9S Pro+ has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1260 x 2800 and a high refresh rate of 144Hz. The screen also supports HDR10+ and has a peak brightness of 1400 nits. While the phone has a plastic frame instead of metal, it still feels solidly built at 193g. The display is vibrant and colorful, making it great for gaming and media consumption.

Hardware and Performance

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset along with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. This combination delivers blazing-fast performance that can easily handle the most intensive games. During my testing, I didn’t experience any lag or stutters. Multitasking was also a breeze. The included vapor chamber cooling should help prevent overheating during long gaming sessions.

Cameras

On the camera front, there is a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide along with support for 8K video recording. Image quality seemed excellent in bright lighting but low light performance needs more testing. The 16MP front camera is acceptable for selfies.

Battery Life

Keeping the lights on is a 5,500mAh battery which Vivo claims can be charged from 0-70% in just 17 minutes using the included 120W fast charger. In my use, the iQOO Neo9S Pro+ easily lasted over a day of heavy use between charges.

Early Verdict

After an initial review, the iQOO Neo9S Pro+ seems like a very capable gaming smartphone. It offers top-tier specs like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, high-refresh AMOLED display, powerful performance, and fast charging. Where it lacks is the plastic design and untested low-light cameras. However, at its price point, it undercuts many flagship phones while still delivering flagship hardware. Gamers looking for raw power and performance should give the iQOO Neo9S Pro+ serious consideration. A full review is still needed, but first impressions are very positive.
