vivo V30 Lite Review: A Solid Mid-Range 5G Phone

The vivo V30 Lite was launched in December 2023 as an affordable 5G-enabled smartphone from Vivo. Having already reviewed multiple variants of the V30 series phones, let’s take a detailed look at what the V30 Lite brings to the table.

Design and Display

The V30 Lite has a plastic frame sandwiched between two glass panels on the front and back. It feels well-built and has a sleek profile measuring just 7.7mm in thickness. At 190g, it is also pretty lightweight. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display has FHD+ resolution and a high refresh rate of 120Hz, making animations and scrolling look butter smooth. It gets plenty bright at 1150 nits peak brightness as well.

Performance and Software

Powering the V30 Lite is the Snapdragon 695 5G chipset coupled with up to 12GB RAM. This combination handles daily tasks and moderates gameplay well without any issues. The phone runs on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13 right out of the box. The UI is feature-rich and customizable. Vivo has promised 2 years of software updates.

Camera

The triple rear camera setup has a 64MP primary sensor accompanied by 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth sensors. Selfies are handled by a 50MP front camera. Photo quality is good for the price point with detailed shots in good lighting. Low light performance could have been better. Video recording maxes out at 1080p resolution at 30fps.

Battery and Charging

The 4800mAh battery easily sails through a full day of moderate use on a single charge. The 44W fast charging support is excellent as well, topping the battery from zero to full in around an hour.

Verdict

Priced around 480 euros, the V30 Lite provides a decent all-round mid-range experience with 5G connectivity, a high refresh rate display, good performance, and fast charging. The hardware and software optimizations make it a capable daily driver for most users. If you are looking for an affordable 5G phone, the V30 Lite is worth considering.
