Vivo V30e Review: A Solid Mid-Range Option

V30e as an upcoming mid-range smartphone that is expected to launch in May 2024. Based on the specs revealed on the GSM Arena website, the Vivo V30e appears to be a well-rounded option for those looking for a phone in the mid-tier price segment.

Design and Display

The Vivo V30e has an interesting design with a glass front and plastic frame. It has a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a high 120Hz refresh rate. The display also gets bright at 1300 nits peak brightness. The screen is well protected by Schott Xensation glass. The phone feels compact for its screen size at 164.4 x 74.8 mm and has a thin 7.7mm body. It is IP64-rated for dust and water resistance as well.

Performance and Hardware

Under the hood, the V30e is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset which should provide solid performance for day to day tasks and light gaming. It comes with 8GB of RAM as standard across both storage variants of 128GB and 256 GB. Storage is expandable via the hybrid SIM card slot.

Cameras

For photography, there is a capable quad-camera setup consisting of a main 50MP primary sensor along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Selfies are handled by a 16MP front camera. Video recording tops out at 4K resolution on both front and back cameras.

Battery and Software

A large 5500mAh battery supports the phone which is great for all-day usage. It supports 44W fast charging via USB-C which should top it up quickly. The phone runs on Android 14 out of the box with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 14 on top.

Pricing and Availability

The Vivo V30e is expected to be priced around 310 Euros when it launches in May 2024. At this price, it appears to be a very competitive option able to match other mid-range devices from competitors. Its large display, powerful chipset, and huge battery alongside clean software indicate it could be a solid choice for those on a budget.
