vivo Y100t Review: A Solid Budget Smartphone

Design and Display

The Y100t has a 6.64-inch IPS LCD with a 1080×2388 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. This provides a crisp and smooth viewing experience. The phone has a glass front and plastic frame/back shell. At 200g, it’s heavier for a budget phone but the build quality feels solid. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner is a nice inclusion at this price point.

Performance and Hardware

Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset with 8 or 12GB of RAM. This provides capable performance for daily tasks and moderate gaming. Storage options include 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage without a microSD card slot for expansion. Connectivity includes 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band WiFi, and GPS/GLONASS.

Cameras

The Y100t sports a dual rear camera with a 64MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera resolution is 16MP. Video recording tops out at 4K 30fps on the back and 1080p 30fps on the front. Camera quality should be decent for a budget phone.

Battery and Charging

A sizable 5,000mAh battery powers the phone and vivo touts impressive 120W fast charging that can fill the large battery quickly. Reverse wireless charging is also supported.

Software and Features

The Y100t runs Android 13 with Vivo’s OriginOS custom skin on top. Basic sensors include a fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass.

Pricing and Availability

The vivo Y100t is currently only available in China and pricing starts around 200 euros. It offers capable specs and features for the price if availability expands outside of China. Overall the Y100t is a solid mainstream budget option from Vivo.
