Vivo recently released the Y200t as a new entry-level smartphone targeting budget-conscious consumers. After testing the Y200t, here are my thoughts on whether it’s a good affordable phone choice.

Design and Display

The Y200t has a plastic body that feels solid yet lightweight at 199g. It has a modern-looking design with slim bezels surrounding the 6.72-inch screen. The display has FHD+ resolution and a high 120Hz refresh rate, providing crisp visuals. At 1000 nits of peak brightness, the screen is easily visible even in direct sunlight.

Performance and Software

Powering the Y200t is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset along with 8GB of RAM. In day-to-day use, I found the phone to feel fast and responsive whether browsing the web, using apps, or playing games. The OriginOS software based on Android 14 also provided a clean interface with various customization options.

Cameras

The dual rear camera system includes a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. Photos taken had good detail, and accurate colors and the camera app is easy to use.
